About me, and how Glass Dahlia came to be…..
Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Ginny discovered beading as a teenager, teaching herself through curiosity and experimentation. Though encouraged early on to sell her work, she chose a different path—attending University of California, Santa Cruz and building a successful business over many years. Still, something was missing.
That changed the day she rediscovered an old tackle box filled with beads. What began as a simple return to making jewelry she wanted to wear quickly became something more—an obsession rooted in the joy of creating.
With the encouragement of friends and family, Ginny fully embraced her craft. At the heart of her work is a love of color and a commitment to creating jewelry that feels light, expressive, and unique.
Inspired by ancient civilizations and the enduring role of adornment across time, her designs draw from elements like architecture, rivers, and desert landscapes—timeless forms that continue to shape human expression.
Rather than relying on perfectly uniform materials, Ginny intentionally blends different types of glass beads, embracing variation, texture, and subtle surprise. Each piece reflects a balance of intention and spontaneity—made to feel discovered, not manufactured.
Her ultimate aim is simple: to create jewelry that resonates—pieces that spark joy and make the wearer feel uniquely themselves.
